Our practice uses secure medical dictation software to assist GPs in recording and preparing medical notes, correspondence, and reports. The software may process audio recordings of your consultation to convert spoken words into text for inclusion in your health record.

• Data Handling – Your audio may be securely transmitted and processed by the software provider for transcription purposes.
• No Unnecessary Storage – Audio recordings are not retained longer than needed for transcription, unless required for legal or clinical purposes.

While we use industry‑approved, encrypted technology, no system is entirely risk‑free. There is a small residual risk of unauthorised access in the event of a system failure or breach.

• Decline the use of dictation software at any time.
• Request that your GP documents your notes using an alternative method.
• Access and request corrections to your health record in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
