Dr Roberts Atvars (Neurologist)

About Me:

Dr Atvars practices in the fields of general neurology, stroke and multiple sclerosis. Dr Atvars graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2009 and completed neurology training at Box Hill Hospital and the Royal Hobart Hospital. Dr Atvars subsequently undertook a fellowship in Neuroimmunology and Neurophysiology at Royal Hobart Hospital, and a fellowship in Multiple Sclerosis at Royal Melbourne Hospital and Neuro-Oncology at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. Dr Atvars is proud to be the inaugural staff Neurologist at Bendigo Health, where he is the Clinical Lead for Neurology and Stroke. He is a Fellow of The Royal Australasian College of Physicians, a current member of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Neurologists, American Academy of Neurology and Australasian Stroke Academy. He is a member of the Australian Medical Association. He is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at Monash University. Teaching is a particular passion, and he is sought-after tutor for medical students, hospital medical officers and physician trainees. Outside of medicine, Dr Atvars is a dedicated family man, who have happily joined him in the move to Bendigo. Having relocated from Melbourne, both Dr Atvars and his family are looking forward to being part of the Bendigo community for many years to come.
