About our clinic
Hargreaves St Medical Practices provide access to quality, comprehensive medical care tailored to the needs of our patients. We believe that everyone has the right to quality healthcare, when, where and how they need it. From blood tests to mental health, scripts to specialists, we are here to help you and your family.
Location: Located on 454 Hargreaves St in the heart of Bendigo, our clinic is close to pharmacy and radiology services allowing the convenience of healthcare, with Dorevitch Pathology occupying one room.
Parking: We have three parking spaces available on-site, including a disabled space. There is further parking available along Hargreaves St (street parking) or there is an off-street car park located at the corner of Hargreaves and Edwards street.
Booking an appointment: Hargreaves St Medical is an appointment-based clinic. Appointments can be easily made over the phone or via our 24-hour access to the online booking system. Please note, specialists and some doctors are not available for online booking. If you do not see your preferred doctor or specialist, please call reception 03 5454 3973.
Seeking Doctor of Choice: Our administration team work hard to book you an appointment with the doctor of your choice. All of our doctors value providing quality health care and working as a team. If your preferred doctor is not available, we will do our best to offer you an appointment with another doctor.
New Patients: It is a good idea to arrive at least 10 minutes early for your first appointment if you have not completed your registration online. Please ensure you bring the following items to your first appointment:
- A current Medicare Card
- Private health Fund Details
- Concession cards include Health Care Card, Eligible Veterans Affairs (DVA) card or pension card.
- Any relevant test results or referrals from another clinic or specialist
Cancellations: At Hargreaves Street Medical, our team of health professionals want to be available for the needs of you and all of our patients. If you are unable to make your appointment, we ask you please provide Reception with at least 4-hour notice for GP appointments and 24 hours for any specialist appointment so we can offer your time to someone else. If you fail to attend an appointment without providing sufficient notice, you may be billed for non-attendance.
Change of details: If any of your personal details change or require updating, we request you please inform reception via phone or at your next appointment. This can include change of name, address, contact number, email address or next of kin.
After-Hours Care: Hargreaves Street Medical offers after-hour care to existing patients of the clinic by our own general practitioners. Our clinic has a 7- day/week roster of Senior GPs who provide Teleconsultations for all HSM Medical patients during the after-hours period. Please note the after hours service is not bulk billed and an out of pocket fee of $60 will apply.

Home Visits: Where safe and reasonable, Hargreaves Street Medical makes visits to regular practice patients in their homes, aged or residential care facilities, or in hospitals within and outside of normal working hours. A patient can arrange for a home or other visit or a general practitioner may request to see a patient in their place of residence if the following criteria are met:
- The patient is a regular patient of the clinic
- The patient resides in a location that is within a reasonable travelling distance of the practice
- Where it is safe and reasonable
Please note, all home visits must be discussed with GP prior to booking with reception.
Face Masks: Patients attending Hargreaves St Medical Practice for an in-clinic consult are required to wear a face mask upon entering the clinic.
Email Policy: EMAIL WILL NOT BE USED to discuss or diagnose any medical issues or to book appointments as it is intended to be primarily used for one-way communication to patients. To book an appointment or seek medical assistance, the patient should call our office at 5454 3973. Email should never be used for emergency problems.
