Telehealth Consent

Consent information for telephone and video consultations at Hargreaves Street Medical Practice.

Before receiving care by telephone or video consultation, we ask patients to consent to telehealth services. Telehealth has some differences to in-person care that are important to understand:

  • Your doctor may not be able to examine you physically, which can limit what can be diagnosed or treated remotely.
  • As with any online communication, there are small security risks despite our best efforts to protect your privacy.
  • In some situations your doctor may decide an in-person appointment is safer, and will ask you to book one.

Telehealth is not for emergencies

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 000 immediately.

A record of your telehealth consultation is kept in your medical file, exactly as in-person visits are. Please speak to reception if you have any questions about telehealth consent.
